Meet the Instructor

I built Courageously You because I reached the pinnacle of elite academia and realized the machine was built to profit from my brilliance while punishing my authenticity.

For years, I navigated the ultra-white, hyper-traditional halls of Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. I was winning awards, securing millions in federal funding, and being positioned as an innovative force. But behind the scenes, institutional gatekeepers constantly produced barriers to the vital work I was trying to do for Black Queer people.

One day while sitting alone, I had a vision of myself standing at the top of my game — receiving the keynote applause of the very institutions that initially doubted me. In the same moment, I realized that future held a profound trap: I would have spent my entire life proving my humanity to systems that never truly believed in it.

I chose to leave. I refused to let traditional systems tokenize my intersectional gifts while denying my autonomy. I cut out the White bureaucratic machine so I could bring the absolute pinnacle of behavioral science directly to you — unfiltered, uncompromised, and entirely on our terms.

My Philosophy

Most of us are navigating a world that was not built for us. Almost everyone possesses some unique aspect of their identity that is not fully embraced by the world. Consequently, we can form negative beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world that hinder us from reaching our full potential. I believe in taking a non-judgmental and evidence-based approach to helping people become aware of and challenge these thoughts and/or find ways to cope with them by turning their volume down. I offer a challenging and supportive atmosphere to help people embrace the unique aspects of themselves, achieve their therapy goals, and successfully navigate a sometimes invalidating world
